On june 15 we had the boxes out and all of the entry forms ready to go for our super 75th Anniversary 75 Days of Summer in park contest. On Tuesday, September 6, park staff gathered up all the entries and sent them to our central office. Today five of us supervised the drawing of a winner from each state park AND then drew for the order of the prizes. DCR's Internal Auditor, Eric Surratt drew the lucky winners and supervised the drawing.
Virginia State Parks' very own Ed McMahon, also known as Tom Cervenak, will be contacting the winners by phone over the next few days. He also had the happy duty of contacting the winners of the daily prizes from the 75 Days of Summer on line contests.
Winners will have 30 days from today to claim their prize. If we are unable to contact someone or they turn the prize down, we will draw another winner from the same park. Winners will have to complete a Federal W-9 form and will receive a 1099 form in January for all prizes over $600 in value.
We plan to have a photo shoot with the Grand Prize Winner as she collects her 2011, fully loaded pop-up camper sponsored by Coastal RV of Carrollton, Virginia.
