The Friends of Holliday State Park (FoHLSP) actively participates in the mission of Holliday Lake State Park. That mission is to conserve the natural, cultural, scenic, and recreational resources of the park, as well as to provide a variety of recreational and educational opportunities and to promote environmental stewardship. You too can become involved.
You can earn benefits for your volunteer work. For example, you can earn free passes, free camping, and free cabin use at all Virginia State Parks. The ultimate benefit you can earn is a lifetime entrance pass to all Virginia State Parks along with the satisfaction of contributing to a great local resource.
An hour and a half away from Richmond lays this jewel in the rough. Located in Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest, Holliday Lake State Park is named for it’s 150 acre beautiful lake. Swimmers and fishermen alike are drawn to the lake for its clear waters and beautiful vistas. The park also features 8 miles of hiking trails, an aquatic trail, environmental programs, campgrounds, a camping lodge, picnic shelters, concessions stand, visitor centre and gift shop. Bring the family and enjoy some backyard Virginia fun!
Opportunities will continue to arise to support the park in a variety of ways. One of those ways is through the Friends group. Friends groups are non-profit organizations that are formed to support a local park through volunteerism, advocacy and fundraising efforts. Anyone interested in becoming involved with Friends of Holliday Lake State Park, please call or e-mail and ask for information on joining and annual membership dues/donations. Dues and Donations are Tax Deductible.
