Claytor Lake is an excellent place for all sorts of boating and the park marina has facilities for boat storage, rental, and launch. A private concessionaire, Claytor Lake WaterSports, rents all types of boats, conducts interpretive lake tours and has water sports packages available at the park. In addition there is a free boat launch located near the park entrance that is operated in partnership with the Virginia Department of Game and Fisheries.
