If you’re between the ages of 14 and 17, then you’re in luck! Virginia State Parks has the cure for your ailments in an easy to follow three week program! It’s called the Youth Conservation Corps! Yes, Corps… No, not like the dead body. As in AmeriCorps, or Peace Corps, or Marine Corps. (Hint: The “s” is silent)
YCC is a National Award Winning Program
What would you pay to join a program like this? $50? $100? $200???
Guess again! We pay you! You heard that right, WE PAY YOU! For three weeks of your time volunteering at a Virginia State Park, you’ll earn a $500 stipend at the end of the program. While you’re with us, we’ll take care of all your dining and housing accommodations while you enjoy the scenic vistas of Virginia.
Why have you not heard of us?
We’re the nation’s best kept secret. Yes, the WHOLE nation! In 2010, the Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps won the “Take Pride in America” award for the BEST state volunteer program in the nation. For those of you unfamiliar of “Take Pride in America”, the program was instituted by Congress and is administered by the Department of Interior under Secretary Salazar. Their purpose is to distinguish individuals and volunteer groups that hold fast to their objective of stewardship of our nation’s public lands.
Sound too good to be true?
Hardly. 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps. Thousands of volunteers have passed through our doors and left happier and with a fulfilled sense of purpose, drive and dedication. And YOU could be one of them!
Got your attention?
Well you better act fast! Positions are limited. Hundreds may apply, but only the best can join our ranks! For more information about our program, visit our website: Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps
