Bring the whole family to Staunton River Battlefield State Park on October 17th, 2009 for the park’s eighth annual “Haunted Harvest Hayride.” Hayrides commence at 7:00 PM, and will include a “haint-guided” experience through the mist-shrouded battlefield. You never know who might show up for this event, where “visitors” from the past sometimes reveal themselvesalong the way. The hayride then winds around an ancient Indian burial ground for a spooky, hair-raising finish!
This year, visitors can also hike the Haunted Trail beginning at 7:00 PM. Join the creepy crawlies as you stroll down the haunted trail through the forest of fear for a spooktacular thrill!
While you are there, don’t forget to grab a delicious hotdog. Admissions are $5.00 for the Hayride and $2.00 for the Haunted Trail. The Historic Staunton River Foundation, along with many volunteers, make this event possible. Pre-register or get more information by calling 434-454-4312.
Although overnight accommodations are not available at Staunton River Battlefield State Park, camping and cabins are available at online.
