Come to Caledon Natural Area on Saturday, November 6th from 10:00am to 4:00pm and enjoy the crisp fall air while sipping a glass of wine and shopping for that unique treasure.
The natural area visitor center and gift shop will be open for the day and park staff and volunteers will be taking visitors on hayrides through the natural area. Visitors of any age may enjoy the hayrides and art show. Those over 21 wishing to taste or purchase wines will need to provide a photo ID at the entrance gate. The fee for wine tasting is $10 per person which includes a commemorative wine glass.
This year’s festival is dedicated in celebration of the life of artist John Shaw, a great man and a true friend of nature. John graced Caledon for decades with not only his artwork but also himself; sadly he passed away in January of 2010. John had been a featured artist at Caledon’s annual art show for over 20 years and his art work still hangs in the Caledon visitor center. It will seem odd not to see John in his usual good spirits chatting with guests about his many trips throughout the country that were the inspiration for his artwork.
John designed the artwork for the festival wine glasses for the last three years. To honor John this year, all 3 designs will be available along with a commemorative decanter and glass mugs depicting his amazing artwork.
In addition to the celebration of John, we celebrate nature and nature’s bounty with a wide variety of artisans and wineries from around the region. This year we welcome back Clearview Farm Alpacas, Wood furniture and natural creations from Walnut Hollow Workshop and of course some scrumptious foods from Sho’Nuff BBQ of Montross.
