The Discovery Center at Douthat State Park
Come to the Discovery Center at 10 a.m. and turn trash into treasure to make a special greeting card for Dad. Paper will be made by hand, personalized for gifting, and embedded with wildflower seeds so flowers will grow if Dad plants his card in a flower pot or garden at home.
At 2 p.m. make a special gift for Dad or even with Dad at the Discovery Center. Projects include a screech owl box for $20, a butterfly house for $16, a bat house for $12, a phoebe or robin platform for $10, a squirrel feeder for $6 or a bird feeder for $4.
Take a special guided hike with Dad on one of our many trails at 4 p.m. Meet at the Discovery Center and take a hike to find wildflowers in bloom, identify trees, and learn about the natural history of Douthat State Park.
