Bikers compete in the Mountain Do Triathlon
With miles of trails and acres of water,Hungry Mother State Parkhas become a hotspot for outdoor athletic competition.
On Saturday, April 30, athletes from four states gathered for theSmyth County Relay for Life. Featuring a 10K trail run, a 3K kayak course, and a 20K bike ride, the triathlon brings in local enthusiasts and out-of-town experts. All proceeds benefitted the Smyth County Relay for Life chapter.
Animal-lovers and their canine friends came to the park on Saturday, May 14 for the “Walk a Mile in My Paws” Fun Dog Walk and the “Run for the Paws”10K race, sponsored by theSmyth County Humane Society. Prizes were given for best-dressed dog!
