On Sunday, July 10, 2011,Project Linus’ Loudoun County Chapter. Project Linus’ Loudoun County Chapter Coordinator Mary Miller explained that they will then give the blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.
We had asked for donations of fleece material with child appropriate designs that had been pre-washed and cut in to sections of either 1 yard or 1.5 yards. Our wonderful volunteers donated many yards of fleece to make this event possible.
Miss Teen Virginia Gabrielle Riedyand America's Miss 2011 Shaina Millan
We had 30 people, amongst them were Miss Teen Virginia Gabrielle Riedyand America's Miss 2011 Shaina Millan, come to make blankets and in the span of two hours we ran out of material and had made46 blankets. As everyone worked away they talked about the bear that they brought. Some were shy when talking about their bear, some of the bears traveled many places but all of the bears shared meaningful memories with their owners.
