The Richmond Outdoor Afro Chapter will have a Hike for Healing on Saturday, February 7th at 10:00 am at York River State Park
The year 2014 was punctuated with needless violent deaths. It is easy to focus on and divide social/political ideologies. But, whatever disagreements people may have, the fact remains that people lost their lives through violence. .Already in this new year, we can barely turn on the TV or our computers and not see stories of crime and murder at home and abroad. Such scenes tend to scar and stress our minds.

The York River State Park will conduct A Hike for Healing on Saturday, February 7that 10 am. This is not a campaign or demonstration. But, this hike is an opportunity for people to get away from the stress of news feeds and seeks a peaceful way to overcome our troubled society. We will take the Woodstock Pond and Mattaponi Trails for their scenic views of the river and reflect on the healing principles of nature and spirit on this journey.
Hikers are a diverse group of adventurers
Our hope for all who participate in this program and visit us throughout the year is that we find constructive and peaceful ways to resolve our inner and outer conflicts. It is not our purpose to align ourselves with any ideology. We simply offer the enjoyment and serenity of the park and a courteous and knowledgeable staff to enhance your experiences.
