We celebrated the opening of camping season in Virginia (March 1) with statewide snowfall. In Richmond and east, it was more snow than we have seen in over three years, and three days of probably the coldest weather we’ve had all winter. So, the last thing anyone has been thinking about all week is camping in a Virginia State Park.
The snow is still on the ground but the weather forecasters are predicting temperatures in the 60s, possibly 70s for this weekend. It must be March! So now, a weekend camping vacation doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. But it’s Wednesday so it must be too late???
No! The reservation center and on line reservations. We are considering experimenting with same day camping only reservations later this year. We will let you know when we have that ready to go.
