The kick-off of Sky Meadows State Park’s Fall Farm Festival is October 4th & 5th, 2014; visitors can enjoy some much needed Relaxation & Rejuvenation.
The park will be offering a variety of programs to help you reconnect with nature, unplug and unwind. Try and re-create yourself through recreation.
The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and Alexia Scott Studios will join us along with J&M Concessions, and the Blacksmith Guild of the Potomac. One visit to our serene park and you’ll feel revitalized; mind, body, and spirit!
Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 Schedule:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artful Contemplation – visit with local artist Alexia Scott author of “Pastel Painting is Transcendental” as she paints landscapes of the park.
Noon to 3 p.m. Calming Herbs – garden herbs put to good use, stop in the log cabin to try some potions and tonics created from our historic herb garden.
Noon to 3 p.m. Live Music by Evergreen Shade
Noon to 4 p.m. Farmers Forge – Blacksmithing was common practice on working farms, check out the Blacksmith Shop and the members of Blacksmith Guild of the Potomac as they hammer away.
Noon to 4 p.m. Ghosts of Mount Bleak House Tours – Step back in time on this tour and experience life on the farm and feel a connection to the past.
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Full Moon Walk – Experience the park in a whole new light – moonlight. Take a hike up the mountain with one of the Park Rangers as the sun sets and witness the beauty of the Blue Ridge.
