Whether your Virginia State Park visit includes camping, staying in a cabin, or just picnicking for the day, you’ll probably be grilling. You might like cooking over a wood fire or prefer charcoal. One way or another, there’s a good chance you’ll be cooking up the all American hot dog.
We all have our favorites, but I wanted to share the results of a recent Hot Dog throw down held in Austin, Texas. If you think their top-rated franks are out to lunch, just shrug it off by saying “those Texans.” I thought the most interesting things about the results was that All Beef were all around judged as more tasty (I always loved my mystery meat dogs) and that how a dog rated changed when it was judged with or without a bun and fixins. You would think a good dog would be a good dog.
If you are completely at a loss as to which dog to buy, if you visit one of our Virginia State Parks with a snack bar, buy a dog from us. We won’t tell you which brand we use. And I guarantee you one thing – any hot dog tastes better in a Virginia State Park!
