Each year Bristol Bird Club and will be conducted along the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail at the park.
Scott County, Virginia, where Natural Tunnel State Park is located, has 162 different species of birds reported according to the www.explorescottco.org . Although, birding is a year long hobby, the peak of the spring birding is in May when blooming oak flowers make an attractive habitat for hundreds of birds including warblers and other songbirds. What better way to enjoy nature than to be serenaded by natural music?
The park offers this as a free program. Participants will need to bring binoculars, bird identification book, camera, and a notepad to take notes. Come on out and join us for an educational and eye opening program.
