The Southwest Virginia Museum on April 30 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Celebrate spring with a day of events sure to appeal to your green thumb. Local growers and plant enthusiasts are invited to enjoy the day’s events that include:
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Friends of the Museum annual plant sale. Plants range from $1 to $5.
9 – 10 a.m.: Herb Gardening with Jean Brown (free)
10 – 11:30 a.m.: Rain Barrel workshop. Participants make a rain barrel to take home.(Supplies included in $15.00 fee). This program is offered by The Upper Tennessee River Roundtable. Participants must pre-register by April 15.
Noon: “Herbal” Luncheon. A light lunch featuring items made with herbs. Cost is $6 and participants must pre-reserve by April 15.
1-2 p.m.: Developing Your Green Thumb. A chance to learn some time-tested growing tips From experienced growers. (free)
