Come back to the family farm and celebrate the fall harvest at Sky Meadows State Park, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Each full weekend in October will feature live music, interpretive programs, living history demonstrations, Ghosts of Mount Bleak House Tours, delicious food, and of course a children’s play area with scheduled activities like old-fashioned toys & games. The pick-your-own pumpkin patch will be open daily.
This weekend learn about the things that go bump in the night! And enjoy the fall breeze at Sky Meadows State Park during our Fall Farm Festival’s Wildlife & Habitat’s weekend. Arrive early to take a stroll down Woodpecker Lane with our Park Interpreter Patricia Bartholomew to find out about our Red-Headed Woodpeckers. After your walk try some touchy feely stuff at the Skulls & Skins program near the Carriage Barn. Then, at 1:00 PM meet some local wildlife ambassadors from the Raptor Conservancy of Virginia’s booth and meet a couple local raptors. Meet two Alpacas that are visiting the park from Sunset Acres Alpacas; you can also purchase some of their handmade Alpaca garments to take home (scarves, hats, mittens, and more).
Relax and grab some lunch from Middleburg Creamery and meander for a few moments through our historic area. On Saturday (October 2), enjoyvisiting the display tables of Piedmont Environmental Council. On Sunday (October 3), visit theDepartment of Forestry, Shenandoah Master Naturalists, and the Bird Boxes.
At 3:00 PM enjoy “Birds, Bees, & Bats: Bringing Helpful Critters to Your Backyard” a program by Piedmont Environmental Council.
