The The Friends of York River State Park will hold their third Saltwater Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 14th with a grand prize of $500 and other prizes to the top 10 anglers.
Registration is from 6:00 to 8:00 a.m. and weigh in is from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.. Registration is $20 and participants will receive a fried chicken lunch. The total weight of 6 croaker will determine the winner. Last year's grand prize winner turned in a total weight of 9 lbs 4 oz. The fourth place winner fished from the pier.
Already we have seen croaker better than 13 inches caught from the pier. Our regular anglers are pleased with the fish they are catching this early in the season. So, don't miss out on your chance to help the park and your frying pan.
