Stargazing
Tired of all those city lights? We have the remedy for you; stargazing! On Saturday, November 12th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. local astronomers from the Crewe Astronomy Club will help us navigate the night sky above Sailor’s Creek Battlefield. Telescopes will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own. This event is FREE and open to the public. *Weather permitting.

Antebellum Santa
Let us get you in the holiday spirit! During the first weekend in December antebellum Santa will be at Sailor’s Creek Battlefield. He will be posing for pictures inside the historic Overton-Hillsman Farm House Museum decorated for the holidays as it would have been in 1865. Come out and have your picture taken with Santa 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 4th. This event is FREE and every child or child-at-heart is invited!

Antebellum Santa will be visiting Sailor's Creek Battlefield State Park
The Visitor’s Center at Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park is open everyday. Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
We will be closed November 24th-26th and December 23rd-26th.

Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Parkis located at 6541 Saylers Creek Road, Rice, Va. From U.S. 460, take Route 617 (Saylers Creek Rd.) to Sailor’s Creek Battlefield State Park. From U.S. 360, take State Route 307 (connecting highway between U.S. 360 and U.S. 460) to Route 617 North (Saylers Creek Rd.).
Drive Time : Northern Virginia, three to three and a half hours; Richmond, one to one and a half hours; Tidewater/Norfolk/Virginia Beach, two and a half to three hours; Roanoke, two hours.
