The Dallas Wesley. Dallas is a song writer, musician, and actor who started writing songs at the age of 19 while stationed in Guam with the U.S. Coast Guard. Since his career in the service, he has written well over 100 songs. Dallas will perform at Holliday Lake State Park on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 7 p.m.
Lynchburg resident, Dallas Wesley will play at Holliday Lake State Park.
In 2010, Dallas auditioned for the lead role in the play “Hank Williams: Lost Highway” produced in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dallas was not familiar with the legendary country music artist so he spent the next 24 hours watching YouTube videos and perfecting the voice of one of the most important country music artists of all time. His won the hearts of the judges and the lead role. The play, and Dallas portrayal of Williams, was a monumental success. Today Dallas plays to a growing fan base especially in the central Virginia area. He has opened for Travis Tritt, Trace Adkins and Darius Rucker.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Virginia Museum of Radio Entertainment. The Virginia Museum of Radio Entertainment is a Virginia 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created to archive, sustain, and perpetuate roots-based American music through the presentation of quality educational and community enrichment programs.
The Friends of Holliday Lake is a Citizen Support Organizations that is a group of volunteers that have a special interest in supporting projects and programs for the park. These groups organize special events, raise money, schedule workdays and partner with local businesses. They also advocate on behalf of the park. Friends Groups are a valued resource to state parks and are particularly important during hard economic times.
The park is located via State Route 24 between Appomattox and U.S. 60 and from Routes 626, 640 and 692. Approximately 12 miles from the Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park.
