Mike Capraro and Susan Musante are wonderful individuals who have been coming to the park throughout the winter months with their chainsaw to remove downed trees and limbs on the park’s 24 miles trails.

Richard and Jinny Fox hike up to 6 days a week, for 3-5 miles per trek! In 2010, they logged about 655 miles, with the majority of these being in our park. While hiking, they perform trail maintenance and alert park staff and Mike and Susan of any downed trees that need to be removed from walkways. Between the four of them, we have quite a system going to keep the trails in good shape!
Richard and Jinny Fox never miss an opportunity to volunteer, or a Friends meeting.

Brian Bennett has been a tremendous help in assisting with the summer Junior Ranger program and the presentation of educational programs for school groups. He also developed the new self-guided Junior Ranger booklets that will be given out in the visitor center this season. In addition, he and his wife, Mary Bennett, rallied up volunteers to inspect and map out the park’s numerous bluebird boxes.
